How This Guide Is Researched, Sourced and Updated

Every fact here is checked against named public sources, and anything unconfirmed is flagged for you to verify yourself.

Updated Sep 2026 · how we rate brokers

We Start With the Regulator, Not With a Broker

The first check on any topic is the Capital Markets Authority of Uganda, known as CMA Uganda. It publishes a licensed persons list at cmauganda.co.ug. A licence entry on that list is the only proof of authorisation this guide treats as real.

One point stays open on purpose. Whether CMA Uganda licenses online forex dealing at all needs confirmation on its register. Until that is settled, this guide does not tell you that any broker is licensed, safe or best. That work sits on broker pages, not here.

If a claim cannot be traced to a named public source, it does not go in. No exceptions for things that sound obvious.

Session Times Are Quoted in East Africa Time

Uganda runs on East Africa Time, EAT, which is UTC+3 all year. There is no daylight saving shift to track. That makes session planning simpler than in Europe or North America.

In local time, Sydney runs 01:00 to 10:00 EAT, Tokyo 03:00 to 12:00 EAT, London 11:00 to 20:00 EAT, and New York 16:00 to 01:00 EAT. The London and New York overlap is 16:00 to 20:00 EAT, the busiest window of the Ugandan day.

These hours are the ones quoted throughout the guide. Where a session time matters to a decision, you will see it in EAT, not in a foreign timezone you have to convert.

Money Movement Facts Come From the Rails Themselves

Mobile Money is the main payment rail for Ugandan readers. The others covered here are MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, bank transfer and card. Each has its own rules set by the provider, not by this guide.

So we do not print deposit limits, withdrawal fees or processing times. Those change, and they differ by provider and by account. Check the broker's funding page and your Mobile Money app for the current numbers before you send anything.

Where a fee or limit would be useful, the guide names the place to look instead of guessing. That keeps the page honest when providers update their terms.

Updates Happen When a Named Source Changes

This page is reviewed when something it cites actually changes: a regulator updates its register, a session hour shifts, or a payment rail alters its terms. Nothing is refreshed just to look current.

When a fact cannot be confirmed at review time, it is marked as unconfirmed rather than quietly kept. The CMA Uganda licensing question is handled that way now. You can check it yourself at cmauganda.co.ug.

The guide carries no invented authors, awards, testimonials or statistics. If you cannot see where a number came from, treat that as a signal, not a small detail.

Trading forex and CFDs on margin carries a high risk of losing more than you deposit. Most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
